About Us

The AHPS staff have served as the Planning Coordinator with the Southwest Ohio Regional Medical Response System.  The Regional Medical Response System (RMRS) is a program designed by the State of Ohio to coordinate the planning and preparedness for a potential Bioterrorism event.  Primary assignments included developing plans that would integrate local Emergency Management Agencies, Fire Departments, and Law Enforcement Agencies in the eight counties of Southwest Ohio with Public Health and Hospitals.

Members of the AHPS staff also founded and served as Director of the Tristate Medical Reserve Corps, a collaboration of county based Medical Reserve Corps units and over 1300 volunteers recruited to supplement our healthcare community during a medical emergency or disaster type event.

For the past six years AHPS staff have also led the planning and development of a regional Exercise to test the community’s preparedness for potential disaster type events.  This work has included managing exercise design teams through the development of simulated events such as Sarin gas, improvised explosive devices, pandemic influenza, plague, smallpox, and Anthrax.  AHPS also has on staff a Master Exercise Practitioner trained at the National Exercise Training Center.
